Student Scholarships
We are thrilled to share the incredible impact the Irene C. Hernandez Foundation has made in the lives of students at the Irene C. Hernandez Middle School. A key pillar of focus for us is to provide financial support to economically disadvantaged students, ensuring they can pursue their high school education without the burden of registration fees.
Our Scholarship Program
Through your generous donations and unwavering support, we provided SIX 8th grade students FOUR-YEAR scholarships who are transitioning to high school. These scholarships cover book fees, technological fees, uniform fees, and supplies for their entire high school career. This comprehensive support allows students and their families to focus on education and personal growth rather than financial strain.
The selected students have shown remarkable potential and determination, and we are proud to support them on their educational journey. Your contributions have directly impacted their lives, giving them the tools they need to succeed in high school and beyond.
Honoring Irene’s Legacy
Irene C. Hernandez believed in providing a voice for the voiceless and advocating for those in need. With our fundraising efforts, we honor her legacy by promoting educational access and success. Together, we can foster positive change in our community and ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
A Commitment to Education
In 2023, 70.7% of students enrolled in Chicago Public Schools were economically disadvantaged, and an astounding 93.9% of students at ICH Middle School came from low-income families. Recognizing the pressing need for support, we have dedicated ourselves to alleviating the financial barriers that hinder educational success.
Making a Difference
Imagine the positive impact a four-year scholarship can have on students, their families, and their communities. By removing the worry of educational expenses, we empower students to strive for excellence and reach their full potential. Our goal is to improve graduation rates and reduce the high school dropout rate among economically disadvantaged students, creating a brighter future for all.
