We thank you for your support in 2023 and are excited to have an even bigger impact in 2024. For the second year as a foundation, we will raise funds for our annual Holiday Fundraiser. We will provide items such as coats, boots, groceries, toys, & other essentials.
This fundraiser is so important to us and this act of kindness start 45 years ago! Irene’s daughter, Diane, was working as a teacher with Chicago Public Schools. One of her students was diagnosed with cancer and passed away right before Christmas. Irene suggested they buy food and presents for the family. They shared with the rest of their family and everyone decided to contribute.
Every year since then, Irene’s family, (her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren) have supported families in need. For the past 14 years, Irene’s family has come together during the holiday season to donate items to families in need at the Irene C. Hernandez Middle School named after Irene.
