Student Scholarships

School fees add up! Book fees, Technological Fees, Uniform fees, and Supplies -  can be more than some families can afford.  The ICH Foundation is actively raising funds to help support 8th-grade students at the Irene C. Hernandez (ICH) Middle School with their high school tuition so they may continue pursuing their education.

Chicago Public Schools identify economically disadvantaged students with a family income of $55k or less for a family of four [1].  In 2023, 70.7% of students enrolled at Chicago Public Schools were economically disadvantaged [2], and 93.9% of students enrolled at ICH Middle School were low-income [3].

Our mission is to provide financial support annually, to those students and alleviate the burden of the educational fees imposed per year, for their entire FOUR-YEAR-High-School career.

Imagine the positive impact a 4-year scholarship will have on students, their families, and their opportunity to grow, free from tuition worry.

With your support, we can help students complete their education, and brighten their future. Our goal is to improve the graduation rate and success of economically disadvantaged students, and help combat the high school dropout rate.

Irene believed in providing a voice for the voiceless and advocating for their relief.  With our fundraising efforts, we can reach those in need and promote positive change in the community by encouraging educational access and success!
